Does CVE-2026-109518 mean every APT installation is compromised?
No. The vendor advisories describe a file-verification bypass involving particular redirect, retry, and hard-link conditions. A successful attack also needs a way to influence the package download path and the package operation to occur. Administrators should still update promptly because package installation is a privileged trust boundary.
