Does running an AI model locally guarantee privacy?
No. Local inference can keep prompts on a device, but an agent may still call online tools, sync logs or send data through connected services. Privacy depends on the whole workflow, including network permissions, telemetry, storage and user choices, not simply where the model's main computation runs.
