What is the difference between total and active parameters?
Total parameters describe the model's overall parameter set, while active parameters refer to the subset used for a token in a sparse or mixture-style design. Active count relates to computation per token; it does not mean all other weights vanish from storage or that a device needs memory for only the active subset.
