July 2025: Chips at the edge, kitchens in the cloud and genomics at scale

Netrasemi, EatClub and MedGenome offer a July cross-section of edge computing, delivery operations and diagnostic science.

Edge AI begins with a silicon constraint

Netrasemi is a fabless semiconductor company from Thiruvananthapuram, founded by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma and Deepa Geetha. Its chips target edge AI uses such as smart cameras, robotics, drones, automotive and industrial equipment. The July tracker records a ₹107 crore Series A with Zoho, Maithan Alloys and others. Its 2026 profile signal says the A2000 chip completed silicon bring-up and the company was gearing up for commercial production. That is a useful technical milestone: it places the product beyond design on paper, while still short of proving volume shipments or customer adoption. A fabless model means chip design and validation remain central even when manufacturing is handled by external foundries. The round may support that long path, but the sources do not detail how proceeds were spent.

A cloud kitchen is a portfolio and a logistics engine

EatClub Brands runs Box8, Mojo Pizza and other food brands through a technology-first cloud-kitchen model. Founders Amit Raj and Anshul Gupta have built a portfolio where menu design, kitchen operations, delivery economics and app discovery intersect. July’s Series E is reported at ₹185 crore, with Tiger Global, 360 ONE Asset and A91 Partners named. A multi-brand kitchen can share parts of the production and delivery system, but each brand still needs customer demand and repeat orders. The financing row does not establish store-level profitability or contribution margins. Its value as a story is that the reported capital sits behind an operating model where software and physical food preparation are inseparable.

Genomics services depend on lab capability

MedGenome offers diagnostics and research services built around genomic testing. The profile describes more than 1,300 tests across oncology, inherited disease, reproductive health and other areas, supported by accredited laboratories. Its July Series E reports $47.5 million from MAJ Invest, Novo Holdings and Sofina. A prior milestone marks a decade of genomics diagnostics in India in October 2024, and earlier reporting notes advanced sequencing equipment and tests. These dated details show a company evolving its technical capacity over years, not a product born from one funding round. The sources do not specify whether the July funds were meant for labs, research, geographic expansion or another use, so any direct assignment would be speculation.

Funding labels hide very different operating clocks

Netrasemi’s chip development, EatClub’s daily kitchen throughput and MedGenome’s lab-based diagnostics run on different clocks. Semiconductor commercialization depends on validation and ecosystem integration; food delivery depends on frequent transactions and tight operations; diagnostics depends on scientific quality and laboratory capacity. The July table includes additional businesses and transaction types beyond these three. These examples are selected to show how different an investor’s “growth” proposition can be from one sector to another, not to rank the round sizes. The profile classifications in the accompanying table are valuation categories, while operating status remains unknown in this dataset.

Turning biological processes into ingredients

Loopworm makes a less conventional July story. The Bengaluru company, founded by IIT Roorkee alumni Ankit Alok Bagaria and Abhi Gawri, began with insect farming: black soldier fly larvae and silkworms convert food waste and agricultural by-products into protein, oils and other ingredients. Its July Pre-Series A row reports $3.25 million from Enrission India Capital and WaterBridge Ventures. A later FY25 report cites ₹4.5 crore revenue and a ₹15–18 crore FY26 projection, while another signal says the company opened a Series A process for a commercial-scale recombinant-protein facility. The model is part circular-economy story, part industrial biomanufacturing; the reported numbers remain company claims in secondary coverage.
